Allahabad High Court RO ARO Eligibility 2026: Age Limit, Qualification, and Apply Criteria

Age Details

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years (unreserved)
• Age relaxations and category-wise allowances are as per the current notification in effect for 2026.

Eligibility Details

Educational Qualification - RO & ARO

• Bachelor’s Degree from a university established by law in India or equivalent.
• Computer qualification: Degree/Diploma in Computer Science OR an ‘O’ Level certificate from NIELIT/DOEACC OR a ‘CCC’ certificate in Computer Science from a recognized institute.
• Proficiency in data entry, word processing, and computer operation, with a minimum English typing speed (commonly 25 words per minute).

Special Posts (RO Hindi / RO Urdu)

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably with relevant languages (English/Hindi or Urdu/Arabic/Persian Literature) at intermediate/graduation level, plus the above computer and typing requirements.

Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree from a university established by law in India or equivalent.
• Same computer qualification as RO: Degree/Diploma in Computer Science OR ‘O’ Level OR ‘CCC’ certificate.
• Minimum typing speed (usually 25 WPM in English) and practical knowledge of data entry, word processing, and computer operation.

Preferential Qualification

• Preference to Territorial Army veterans (typically 2 years) or holders of the NCC ‘B’ Certificate, as per applicable rules. This preference is applicable when merit is otherwise equal and does not override essential eligibility criteria.

Nationality

• Indian citizen. UP domicile benefits may apply for reservations; valid domicile certificates are typically required to avail reservation.

Number of Attempts

• No fixed cap on attempts, provided age and other eligibility conditions are met on the cut-off date.

Selection Process

• Written objective test (MCQs).
• Computer knowledge/practical test, including typing test.
• Final merit based on performance and eligibility, with no interview in recent cycles.
