Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 25 years Age as on 01-01-2026.

Age Relaxation (as applicable)

• SC, ST(P) and ST(H): +5 years
• OBC/MOBC: +3 years
• Home Guards/VDP/Civil Defence Volunteers (with 3+ years served): +3 years
• Former Members of Militant Organization (FMMOs)/SPOs: +10 years

Educational Qualifications

• Constable (UB): Higher Secondary (HS) or Class XII from a government-recognized board or council.
• Constable (AB): HSLC or Class X from a government-recognized board or council.
• Applicants with Higher Secondary education or above may apply for both Armed Branch and Unarmed Branch, with clear preference indication.

Other Eligibility Requirements

• Indian citizen and permanent resident of Assam
• Must be registered with a local Employment Exchange in Assam
• Proficiency in Assamese or another State language
• Selected candidates must submit proof of residence after the final selection list is published
