Age

• Maximum age: 28 years as on 01-08-2026. Relaxations:
  • OBC-NCL: up to 3 years
  • SC/ST: up to 5 years
  • PwBD: up to 10 years
• Age, qualification, community status, and creamy layer status will be reckoned as on 01-08-2026 for online submission.

Eligibility

Educational Qualifications

• M.Sc. / Integrated M.Sc. / B.S.-M.S. (Dual degree) / B.S. (with fourth year Research) in Physics, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with required subject combinations and aggregates, plus a valid national-level examination score as specified.

National Examinations (shortlisting)

• Valid certificates from one of the following: UGC-CSIR-NET (SLET/Lectureship not eligible), JEST, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, DBT-JRF Biotechnology Eligibility Test, GATE in Physics/Chemistry/Life Sciences/Biotechnology, or JGEEBILS.

Aggregate Marks

• B.Sc.: minimum 60% (55% for M.Sc. candidates with five-year Integrated M.Sc./B.S.-M.S.).
• 4-year/8-semester B.S. with a fourth year Research: minimum 75%.
• Candidates awaiting final results may apply, subject to meeting minimum aggregates before 10-08-2026.

Disciplines

• Physics with Mathematics at B.Sc. level.
• Chemistry (General/Applied/Organic/Inorganic/Physical/Analytical) with Physics as an ancillary subject and Mathematics at H.S.C. level.
• Life Sciences disciplines with related subject combinations at B.Sc./ five-year integrated M.Sc. level.

Note: Candidates with disallowed specializations or degrees are not eligible. All degree requirements must be completed before 10-08-2026, with proof produced at joining.

Application Fee

• ₹500 for General and other categories, payable online at submission. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories are exempt from the fee.
• Fee payment is required; applications without fee payment will be treated as incomplete and rejected. Fees are non-refundable. Use the Make Payment option in the My Account section to pay using the generated application number.

Other Instructions

• Ensure all educational and professional qualifications are accurately entered. Upload scanned copies of mark sheets, degree certificates, Qualifying Examination Score Card, and Caste Certificate (if applicable).
