Age Details

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 37 years
• Age relaxations as per government rules apply for applicable categories.

Educational Qualification

• 10+2 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized board.
• Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc Nursing from a recognized university/institution.
• Must be registered as Nurse and Midwife with Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), Chandigarh.
• Nursing degrees/diplomas obtained through distance learning are not accepted.

Language Requirement

• Candidate must have Punjabi as a subject at Matriculation (10th) level (as per Punjab Govt norms / BFUHS notification).

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Maximum age: 37 years.

Age Relaxation (as per Punjab Govt rules)

• SC/BC: Relaxation up to 5 years.
• PwD: Relaxation up to 10 years.
• Widows/Divorcees and certain categories of married women: Up to 40 years.
• Punjab & Central Government employees: Up to 45 years.
• Ex‑servicemen: Relaxation as per rule (military service period deducted).

Other Conditions

• Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
• Qualifications must be from recognized institutions; otherwise the application may be rejected.
• Final selection is subject to document verification, medical fitness, and, where applicable, police verification.

Staff Nurse Requirements

• Should have passed Senior Secondary Part-II examination or its equivalent.
• Should possess a GN M diploma from a recognized institution.
• Should be registered with the Punjab Nursing Registration Council.
