Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 35 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years for General/Others; 48 years for PwD and/or Backward Communities

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university
• Knowledge of Marathi: Sufficient knowledge of Marathi to read, write, speak, and translate between Marathi and English (mandatory)

Experience Required (as on 30.01.2026)

• Option 1: Practicing as an Advocate in the High Court of Bombay or subordinate courts OR serving as a Judicial Officer in Maharashtra Judicial Service for not less than 7 years. This includes periods as Public Prosecutor or Government Advocate, and time as a Law Clerk with Judges of the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts.
• Option 2: Working or having worked as Public Prosecutor or Government Advocate for not less than 7 years (period as practicing Advocate included).
• For serving Judicial Officers: 7 years shall include continuous service as a Judicial Officer in Maharashtra Judicial Service plus any additional relevant experience.

General Instructions

• Candidates must possess good Marathi language knowledge.
• Selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years.
• Service Bond: Rs. 2,00,000 to work for 3 years from joining.
• Post-service restriction: Cannot practice in courts for 2 years after ceasing service.
