Age Limit

General Age Limit: Minimum 20 years and maximum 30 years as on the closing date of receipt of application. Relaxations:

• OBC (NCL): up to 33 years
• SC/ST: up to 35 years
• PwBD: up to 40-45 years (category-specific)
• Ex-Serviceman: as per Central Government rules
• BSNL employees: various relaxations as per policy

Educational Qualifications

• Core Qualification (Telecom Stream): Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology or equivalent from a Central or State Government-recognized institution in Telecommunications, Electronics, Radio, Computer, Electrical, Information Technology (IT), or Instrumentation.
• Alternative Qualification: M.Sc. (Electronics) or M.Sc. (Computer Science).
• Higher Qualifications: Candidates with M.Tech in the prescribed disciplines are also eligible to appear in the Direct Recruitment examination.
• Vision: The applicant must be capable of distinguishing principal colours and must have binocular vision.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

Application Fee

• UR/OBC/EWS: ₹2,000
• SC/ST/PwBD: ₹1,000 The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online via Internet Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card on the BSNL portal.

Important Instructions

• Apply online only through the BSNL official examination portal. No manual or paper applications will be entertained.
• Keep ready: active mobile number and email, scanned photograph and signature, birthproof, degree certificates, identity proof, and applicable category certificate.
• After registration, print the application for future reference. An editing window will be open from 04-07-2026 to 11-07-2026 for limited corrections.
• If currently employed in a government department/PSU, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) may be required at document verification.
• Candidates may select up to 21 Circle preferences in order of priority; these selections are final once submitted.
• Admit cards will be available on the BSNL portal prior to the examination date.
