General Information and Instructions

• Reservations are governed by the State Government rules and certificate issuers.
• Claiming reservations is required in the online form; failure to claim may result in denial of reservation benefits.
• Caste-based reservations apply to Bihar-domiciled candidates; permanent address in the application will be treated as the domicile for reservation purposes.
• Candidates from outside the state who belong to reservation categories will be considered unreserved (General).
• A 35% horizontal reservation is applicable to women domiciled in Bihar (across reserved and unreserved categories).
• A 2% horizontal reservation is applicable to descendants of freedom fighters who are receiving a pension from the Central Government.
• Caste certificates and domicile certificates must be submitted in the prescribed format if applicable.
• Non-Creamy Layer certificates are required for BC/EBC categories where applicable.
• The Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services Act, 2019 provisions will be applicable.
• Provisions for Persons with Disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 will not apply to this recruitment (Constables - General Duty Cadre) in the Special Branch, Bihar.
