CSIR-NIO Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Walk-in for 27 Graduate and Technician Apprentice Posts

Age Limit (as on 06-07-2026)

• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: 18 to 24 years
• Graduate (Non-Engineering Degree) Apprentices: 21 to 26 years

Age relaxations are applicable as per government rules (SC/ST 5 years; OBC/NCL 3 years; PwD categories with variations as specified).

Educational Qualifications by Trade

• Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering, Computer Engineering: A three-year full-time Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from a State Council/Board of Technical Education or a recognized University/Institute.
• HR Management, Office Administration, Finance & Accounts, Stores & Purchase: Bachelor's degree in any discipline (B.A./B.B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. or equivalent).
• R&D in Oceanography: Bachelor's degree in any science discipline (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Environment Science, Marine Science, Geology, Computer Science, IT).
• Library Sciences: Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
• Dispensary/Nursing: B.Sc. in Nursing or equivalent.
• Guest House & Canteen Management: Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or equivalent.
• Desktop Publishing: Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Photography, Videography, Visual Communication, or equivalent.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Passed qualifying exam in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.
• Registered on the Apprenticeship Portal (NATS) and fulfilled eligibility to attend the walk-in interview.
• Not currently undergoing any apprenticeship elsewhere.
• No one year or more of job experience.
• Sandwich/private/distance/short-term/certificate courses are not acceptable.

Important Dates

• Notification release date: 18 June 2026
• Walk-in interview date: 06 July 2026
• Reporting time: 08:30 AM to 10:00 AM
• Interview start time: 10:15 AM (for those reporting before 10:00 AM)

Note: If reporting is after 10:00 AM, entry will not be entertained.

Walk-in Interview Process and Documents

• There is no separate online application form. Eligible candidates must register on the NATS portal and carry enrollment number to the interview.
• Attend the walk-in interview on 06 July 2026 at CSIR-NIO, Lok Bhavan Road, Dona Paula, Goa (HRM Office) with reporting between 08:30 AM and 10:00 AM.
• Bring the filled application form (as provided at the end of the official advertisement) and all original certificates plus two sets of self-attested photocopies. No TA/DA will be paid for travel to the interview.
• Required documents include educational certificates, date of birth, identity proof, one passport-size photograph, category certificate (as applicable), Aadhaar card, NATS enrollment number, and the filled application form.

Selection and Training

• Selection is primarily through a walk-in interview; a written test may be conducted if required due to candidate numbers.
• All 27 posts have a 1-year training period. On successful completion, apprentices receive the NCVT/BOAT certificate. There is no guaranteed employment after training.
