Eligibility

Primary Level (Class 1 to 5)

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE 2002 Norms (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Bachelor Degree (Graduation) with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) (passed or appearing in final year).
    • Note: Candidates with a B.Ed from an NCTE recognized institution will be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V, provided they undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of appointment.
  • Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. (passed or appearing in final year).

Junior Level (Class 6 to 8)

  • Graduation Degree and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (passed or appearing in final year).
  • At least 50% marks in Graduation or Post-Graduation and a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE Norms (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed (passed or appearing in final year).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. / (B.Ed Special Education) (passed or appearing in final year).
    • Note: Any candidate who has qualified for a B.Ed. program recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. As per existing TET guidelines, a person pursuing any teacher education course recognized by the NCTE or RCI is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.
  • Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade and a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. (passed or appearing in final year).

For a single paper: General/OBC/EWS candidates: ₹1000; SC/ST/PH candidates: ₹500. For both papers (Primary/Junior): General/OBC/EWS candidates: ₹1200; SC/ST/PH candidates: ₹600. Payment can be made online via Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.
