Age details

Minimum age

• 3 years (Nursery)

Maximum age

• 6 years (Class 1)

Relaxations may be granted as per DoE guidelines.

Residential eligibility (Delhi residents only)

• Only children whose parents/guardians are permanent residents of Delhi can apply. Out-of-Delhi candidates are not eligible. Valid residence proof must be submitted (e.g., ration card, voter ID, Aadhaar with Delhi address, electricity bill, etc.).

Age criteria (as on 31 March 2026)

• Nursery (Balvatika-1): 3+ to 4 years (DOB 01-04-2022 to 31-03-2023)
• KG (Pre-Primary): 4+ to 5 years (DOB 01-04-2021 to 31-03-2022)
• Class 1: 5+ to 6 years (DOB 01-04-2020 to 31-03-2021)
• In special cases, up to 30 days of age relaxation may be granted by the Head of School/Principal. Extra relaxation is available for specially-abled (Divyang) children as per DoE rules.

Important Dates

• Start of application form distribution and acceptance: 2 March 2026 to 16 March 2026 (both days inclusive)
• Display of applicant list and deficiencies: 18 March 2026
• Rectification of deficiencies: 18-19 March 2026
• Lottery / Draw of lots: 20 March 2026
• Display of first selection list: 23 March 2026
• Admission formalities for selected: 24 March to 2 April 2026
• Admission of waitlisted candidates (if seats remain): 4-7 April 2026

Application fees

• Forms are free of cost. There are no processing fees mentioned for the Delhi Sarvodaya Vidyalaya admission 2026.

• Admissions are offline and conducted at the respective Sarvodaya Vidyalayas.
• You may apply to multiple Sarvodaya Vidyalayas but submit only one form per child per school; duplicate forms may lead to cancellation.
