Eligibility Details

Associate Professor

• A PhD in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• At least eight years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor, in a University, College, or accredited research institution/industry, with a minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
• Total research score of 75 as per the Screening Guidelines.

A relaxation of 5% (55% to 50%) at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels is allowed for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwBD (VI and LD) candidates, and for PhD degree holders who obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19 September 1991. Only publications in the UGC-CARE list or SCOPUS-indexed journals are considered, subject to the UGC-CARE list’s discontinuation cut-off of 11 February 2025.

Professor

• Option A: An eminent scholar with a PhD, actively engaged in research, with a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of 120; at least ten years of teaching experience and evidence of doctoral guidance.
• Option B: An outstanding professional holding a PhD in a relevant discipline from an academic institution or industry with ten years of experience and significant contributions to the field.

As with Associate Professor, publications must be from UGC-CARE list or SCOPUS-indexed sources, and a PhD is mandatory for appointment to the post of Professor.
