DRDO DESIDOC Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply for 20 Vacancies in Library Science, Computer Science & Photography

Age limit

The upper age limit is 28 years as on the date of the written test/interview. Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC.

Educational qualifications

• Library & Information Science: Graduation + a one-year Degree in Library & Information Science from a recognised university/institute.
• Computer Science: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or a three-year Diploma in Computer Science from a recognised university/institute.
• Photography/Videography: Three-year Diploma in Photography or Videography, or an ITI certificate from a recognised university/institute.

Pass-out year requirement

Only candidates who completed their qualifying course in 2024 or 2025 are eligible. Candidates who passed before 2024 or who hold postgraduate qualifications are not eligible.

Work/training experience restriction

Candidates who have already undergone training or have job experience of one year or more after completing their qualifying qualification are not eligible for engagement as apprentices under the Act.

Prior termination

Candidates previously terminated from apprenticeship training at any organisation or institute are not eligible.

Application fee

How to apply

• Applications must be submitted physically - by post or in person to DESIDOC, Delhi.
• Register on the NATS portal (mhrdnats.gov.in or nats.education.gov.in) and note your enrolment number.
• Download the application form from the DRDO website (www.drdo.gov.in) and fill it completely with self-attested photocopies of all documents.
• SC/ST/OBC candidates must attach a valid caste certificate in the prescribed Central Government format.
• Envelopes should be superscribed with the discipline name and sent to: Director, Defence Scientific Information & Documentation Centre (DESIDOC), Metcalfe House, Civil Lines, Delhi - 110 054, within 21 days of the advertisement date.
• DESIDOC is not responsible for any loss of email or documents due to invalid addresses or technical issues.

Stipend

Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹12,300 per month for graduates and BE holders; ₹10,900 per month for diploma and ITI holders. This training is not a guarantee of employment.

Selection process

Shortlisting will be based on merit (marks in essential qualifications), followed by a written test and/or interview. A Selection Board will determine eligibility, and only selected candidates will be informed via offer letter or email.

Terms and conditions

Selected candidates must undergo a 12-month apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A medical fitness certificate is required. DESIDOC does not provide quarters, hostel, or transport during training. Providing false information or suppression of facts may lead to disqualification.
