Age Limits (as on 01/04/2026)

• Gynecologist: should not have completed 70 years
• Medical Officer: should not have completed 68 years
• Dental Officer: should not have completed 65 years
• Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Technician, Lab Technician, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist: should not have completed 58 years
• DEO/Clerk, Driver, Chowkidar, Peon, Female Attendant, Safaiwala: should not have completed 55 years

Educational Qualifications

• Gynecologist: MD/MS in the relevant specialty or DNB
• Medical Officer: MBBS; additional qualification in medicine/surgery preferred
• Dental Officer: MDS or BDS; registered with state/central Dental Council
• Nursing Assistant: GNM Diploma or Class 1 NA Course (Armed Forces)
• Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Technician: Diploma in Dental Hygienist or Class-I DH/DORA; registered with Dental Council
• Laboratory Technician: B.Sc (Medical Lab Technology) or 12th with Science and DMLT
• Pharmacist: B.Pharma or 12th Science with Diploma in Pharmacy; registered Pharmacist
• Physiotherapist: Diploma/Class I Physiotherapy Course (Armed Forces)
• DEO/Clerk: Graduate with Clerical Trade (Armed Forces)
• Driver: Class 8th/MT Driver with a valid civil driving license
• Female Attendant: Literate
• Safaiwala: Literate
• Peon: Class 8th, General Duty Trade (Armed Forces)
• Chowkidar: Class 8th, General Duty Trade (Armed Forces)

Experience

• Gynecologist: Minimum 3 years in the specialty after Post Graduation
• Medical Officer: Minimum 3 years after internship
• Dental Officer: Minimum 3 years for BDS; no experience required for MDS
• Dental Assistant/Hygienist/Technician: Minimum 5 years or equivalent in Dental Laboratory
• Laboratory Technician: Minimum 3 years as Lab Assistant in Medical Laboratory
• Nursing Assistant: Minimum 5 years experience
• Pharmacist: Minimum 3 years experience
• Physiotherapist: Minimum 5 years experience
• DEO/Clerk: Minimum 5 years experience
• Driver: Minimum 5 years experience as a driver
• Female Attendant: Minimum 5 years Civil/Army Health institutional experience
• Safaiwala: Minimum 5 years service experience
• Peon: Minimum 5 years experience
• Chowkidar: Minimum 5 years experience

Posting Locations

• 4 ECHS Polyclinics under Station Cell Kolkata: Kolkata, Salt Lake, Howrah and Baruipur
• Employees may be employed or transferred to any Polyclinic under Station Cell (ECHS) Kolkata for temporary or entire period
• Choice of Polyclinic is voluntary; candidate may be posted to any pol clinic where appointed

Reservation for Ex-Servicemen

• 60% for Gynecologist, Medical Officer, and Dental Officer
• 70% for all other posts including Dental Assistant, Lab Technician, Nursing Assistant, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, DEO/Clerk, Driver, Female Attendant, Safaiwala, Peon, Chowkidar

Working Hours

• General Staff: 48 hours per week (8 hours x 6 days)
• Specialists: 30 hours per week (5 hours x 6 days)

Leave

• 2.5 days/month (as applicable)
• Leave lapsed if not utilized within six months; separate accumulation periods are defined

Termination of Services

• One month notice by either side

On-the-Job Training

• 10 days OJT for Medical Officer, Dental Officer & Gynecologists without financial benefits

• No TA/DA for interview
• Self-attest documents; carry all necessary certificates and photographs
• Medical Fitness Certificate required
• Ensure no other current office of profit; no employment in any ECHS empanelled facility
• Final selection subject to eligibility and document verification
