Age Details

• Medical Specialist, Radiologist, Gynaecologist: Maximum age limit 68 years.
• Medical Officer: Maximum age limit 66 years.
• Officer-in-Charge: Maximum age limit 63 years.
• Lab Assistant, Pharmacist, Radiographer, Physiotherapist, Dental Assistant/Technician, IT Network Technician: Maximum age limit 56 years.
• Clerk & DEO/Clerk, DEO, Driver, Female Attendant, Safaiwala, Chowkidar, Peon: Maximum age limit 53 years.

Eligibility Details

General

• Applications are invited from Ex-servicemen and civilians for contractual appointments at Polyclinics under Station Headquarters, Chennai, for vacancies from 01 April 2026 to 30 September 2026.

Post-wise qualifications (examples)

• Medical Specialist: MD/MS in the relevant specialty or DNB with minimum 3 years post-PG experience; DMC registration required.
• Radiologist: PG degree in the relevant specialty (Schedule VI, Central Health Services Regulation 1996) or 5 years post-PG diploma experience; DMC Registration required.
• Gynaecologist: MD/MS in the relevant specialty or DNB with minimum 3 years’ post-PG experience.
• Medical Officer: MBBS with minimum 3 years’ post-internship experience; additional qualification in Medicine/Surgery preferred.
• Lab Assistant: Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT) or Class-1 Lab Technician (Armed Forces) with at least 5 years’ experience.
• Pharmacist: B Pharmacy or 10+2 with PCB and Diploma in Pharmacy with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Radiographer: Diploma/Class-1 Radiographer Course (Armed Forces) with at least 5 years’ experience.
• IT Network Technician: IT Networking/Computer Application diploma or certificate with at least 2 years’ experience.
• Driver: Class-8 pass with Armed Forces driving experience and valid civil driving license (LMV).
• Other posts include Clerks, DEO, Lady Attendant, Safaiwala, Chowkidar, Peon, etc., with post-specific qualifications.

General Information / Instructions

• The employment period is 12 months for Ex-Servicemen and 11 months for others, renewable for up to an additional period subject to performance and other conditions.
• Submit a separate application for each post using the format attached, and attach self-attested copies of all supporting documents.
• Applications must reach OIC ECHS Cell, Station Headquarters, Fort Saint George, Chennai 600009, on or before the last date, with the phrase “Application for the post of ____” on the envelope.
• Only one application per post is required for all Polyclinics.
• Rejected if previously terminated or resigned from ECHS or blacklisted; prior emplaced employees should not apply.
• Computer-qualified candidates will be given preference.
• Changes to the notice will be posted on the ECHS website only.
• Candidates who have worked in Empanelled Hospitals must have a one-year gap before joining any ECHS establishment.
• Any unfair means at interview will be dealt with as per applicable law.
