Age Limits

• Teaching posts (Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Tutor): below 69 years as on 31-03-2026
• Non-teaching post (Civil Assistant Surgeon): below 45 years as on 31-03-2026
• Retired teaching faculty are not eligible for contract appointment

Eligibility Details

Associate Professor

• MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC - 2022
• 5 years post-PG experience, including 4 years as Assistant Professor in the subject at a permitted/recognized medical college; at least 2 research publications in Medline/PubMed/SCI/SCIE/EMBASE/Scopus/DOAJ-indexed journals
• MBBS and additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council

Assistant Professor

• MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC - 2022
• One year as Senior Resident in the subject at a recognized/permitted medical college, after obtaining the MD/MS degree
• MBBS and additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council

Tutor

• MBBS or equivalent recognized by the University of Health Sciences
• For foreign degrees, passing the screening test conducted by the MCI/NMC may be considered
• MBBS registered with Telangana Medical Council

Civil Assistant Surgeon (CAS)

• MBBS or equivalent recognized by the University of Health Sciences
• For foreign degrees, passing the screening test conducted by the MCI/NMC may be considered
• MBBS registered with Telangana Medical Council

For the Emergency Medicine department specifically, prior teaching experience in General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Respiratory Medicine, Orthopaedics, or General Medicine will be counted, and the selected faculty member must complete the prescribed faculty development programme within two years of appointment.

Application Fee

• ₹500/- (non-refundable) via Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Principal, Government Medical College, Nalgonda

Other Instructions

• This is a purely temporary, contract-basis appointment up to 31-03-2027, or until the actual need ceases or regular posts are filled, whichever is earlier.
• Selected faculty are eligible for 15 days of leave per calendar year on a cumulative basis.
• If a selected candidate does not join, the next eligible merit candidate will be selected.
• A relieving order from the previous institute must be submitted; otherwise, the selection is cancelled.
• Candidates already under contract in the same cadre at any Govt. Medical College in Telangana are not eligible.
• On selection, a bond on Rs.100 stamp paper, duly notarised, must be submitted; breaking the bond requires paying three months’ salary or giving one month’s prior notice.
• The contract may be terminated at any time with one month’s notice for misconduct.
• The engaged faculty will be at the institute’s disposal on a whole-time basis; services may be utilised in any manner required by the Competent Authority without additional remuneration.
• Willful submission of wrong information is liable for criminal action; a self-declaration will be required at joining that no criminal cases are pending.
• Selected candidates must join duties within one week of selection.
• The decision of the selection committee is final and binding.
