Age Limits

• Laboratory Assistant posts: minimum 18 years and maximum 33 years as on 6 July 2026
• Senior Laboratory Assistant: minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years

Age Relaxation for Divyang Candidates

• General category Divyang (Male): up to 43 years for Lab Asst posts and 45 years for Sr. Lab Asst
• General category Divyang (Female): up to 45 years
• Reserved category Divyang (Male/Female): up to 45 years

Age relaxations are subject to applicable rules; further relaxations may apply to Gujarat Government service incumbents as per notification rules.

Posts and Educational Qualifications

• Laboratory Assistant (Electrical): Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics
• Laboratory Assistant (Electronics & Communication): Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Laboratory Assistant (Computer): Diploma in Computer Engineering or Information Technology
• Laboratory Assistant (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Senior Laboratory Assistant: Second-class Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Geology, or Industrial Chemistry

Common Requirements

• Basic knowledge of computer applications (as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment Rules, 1967)
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both
• Applicants must produce a computer-knowledge certificate before appointment if not currently held

Citizenship and Special Recruitment Drive

• Open to Indian citizens as per applicable rules
• This recruitment is a Special Recruitment Drive for differently-abled (Divyang) candidates only; general-category candidates are not eligible for these posts.

Application Fees

• Unreserved (Laboratory Assistant posts): ₹500

• Reserved categories, including Divyang and Ex-servicemen: ₹400

• The fee is payable online via Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or Wallet, by the deadline (8 July 2026, 11:59 PM). Fees are non-refundable except to candidates who appear for the exam.
