HP TET November 2026 Notification Out: Important Dates, Eligibility & Online Apply

There is no upper age limit specified for appearing in HP TET. Age criteria for actual appointment are determined separately by the appointing authority.

Eligibility by Category

• TGT (Arts/Medical/Non-Medical/Hindi/Sanskrit): B.A./B.Com (or relevant PG) with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution (alternative routes include B.El.Ed and B.A.B.Ed).
• TGT (Non-Medical): B.Sc (Non-Medical) or relevant PG with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution (alternative routes include B.El.Ed and B.Sc.B.Ed).
• TGT (Medical): B.Sc (Medical) or relevant PG with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution (alternative routes include B.El.Ed and B.Sc.B.Ed).
• TGT (Sanskrit): Shastri/Graduation with Sanskrit as an elective, or PG in Sanskrit/Acharya, with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution.
• TGT (Hindi): Graduation with Hindi as an elective, or PG in Hindi, with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution.
• JBT: 10+2/Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks (45% in some cases) and 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed, or Graduation with 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed.
• Punjabi Language Teacher: B.A. with Punjabi as an elective and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or B.A. with Punjabi elective (50% marks) and B.Ed, or M.A. (Punjabi) with B.Ed.
• Urdu Language Teacher: B.A. with Urdu as an elective and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or B.A. with Urdu elective (50% marks) and B.Ed, or M.A. (Urdu) with B.Ed.
• Special Educator TET (Pre-Primary to Class V): 10+2 (50% marks) or Graduation, with D.Ed/D.El.Ed in Special Education from an RCI-approved institute holding a valid RCI & CRR number.
• Special Educator TET (Class VI to Class XII): Graduation (50% marks) with B.Ed in Special Education from an RCI-approved institution holding a valid RCI & CRR number.

Note: Candidates in the final year of a recognized teaching education program are eligible. A 5% relaxation in minimum educational qualification and qualifying marks is available to SC/ST/OBC/PHH candidates of Himachal Pradesh.

• Online application starts: 11-09-2026
• Last date to submit application & fee (without late fee): 03-10-2026 (till 11:59 PM)
• Submission with late fee of Rs. 600: 04-10-2026 to 08-10-2026 (till 11:59 PM)
• Online correction window (except Category/Sub-category): 09-10-2026 to 12-10-2026 (till 11:59 PM)
• Correction in Category/Sub-category (in person, with certificate): Till 15-10-2026
• Admit card download: 4 days before exam
• Examination period: 22-11-2026 to 06-12-2026

• TGT (Arts): 22-11-2026, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
• JBT: 22-11-2026, 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
• TGT (Non-Medical) / Special Educator (VI-XII): 29-11-2026, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
• TGT (Sanskrit) / Special Educator (Pre-Primary to V): 29-11-2026, 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
• TGT (Medical) / Punjabi / Urdu: 06-12-2026, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
• TGT (Hindi): 06-12-2026, 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Each paper lasts 2 hours 30 minutes.

Application Fees

• General and its sub-categories: Rs. 1200
• OBC/SC/ST/PHH: Rs. 700
• Late fee (during late-fee window): Rs. 600

Fees are payable online via net banking, debit/credit card. A separate fee is required for each category applied for.
