Age Limits

• Assistant Professor (Grade-II): up to 35 years
• Assistant Professor (Grade-I): up to 35 years
• Associate Professor: up to 45 years
• Professor: up to 55 years

Eligibility Details

Assistant Professor (Grade-II)

• Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree, and a consistently good academic record. Candidates with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience may be considered on a contractual basis.

Assistant Professor (Grade-I)

• Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree, and a consistently good academic record. At least three years of relevant teaching/research/industrial experience. Candidates with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience may be considered for a contractual position as Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on post-doctoral experience.

Associate Professor

• Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grades in the appropriate branch, very good academic record. A minimum of six years of teaching/industry/research experience, with at least 3 years at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade-I).

Professor

• Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grades in the appropriate branch, very good academic record. A minimum of 10 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research/professional experience, with at least 4 years at the level of Associate Professor in IITs or equivalent institutions. Demonstrated leadership in research, strong publication record, Ph.D. supervision, and evidence of independent funding are desirable. Teaching and Ph.D. guidance may be relaxed for candidates from research labs if they have an exceptional record.
