Age Limits

• Junior Superintendent: 35 years
• Junior Technician (all groups): 27 years
• Junior Library Assistant: 30 years
• Assistant Engineer: 40 years
• Junior Engineer: 35 years
• Junior Translation Officer: 35 years

Age is reckoned as on the last date of online submission (24 September 2026). Relaxations as per Government rules may apply.

Eligibility Details

• Junior Superintendent: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 55% marks; 3 years’ experience at Level 5 (or 8 years at Level 3) in relevant government or autonomous bodies, with proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
• Junior Technician (Group-I to Group-V): Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry/Physics) or engineering diploma/BE/B.Tech as specified per group; marks requirement 55% where applicable; computer proficiency.
• Junior Library Assistant: Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science (55%), OR Diploma in Library & Information Science (55%) with a Bachelor’s degree, OR 2-year integrated M.Lib. & Info. Sc. (55%).
• Assistant Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering with 5 years (degree holders) or 8 years (diploma holders) post-qualification experience at Level 6 or above.
• Junior Engineer: BE/B.Tech in Civil (55%) with 2 years post-qualification experience, or Diploma in Civil Engineering (55%) with 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Junior Translation Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in Hindi with 3 years’ translation experience (English-Hindi).

Note: Pay Level equivalency will be determined by the Institute based on duties and experience.

Application Fees

• Group B posts: ₹500 for General/OBC; Nil for SC/ST/PwBD/All-Female.
• Group C posts: ₹250 for General/OBC; Nil for SC/ST/PwBD/All-Female.
• Fee once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Other Instructions

• The recruitment is a regular appointment with probation. The institute reserves the right to increase or decrease vacancies or postpone/cancel recruitment.
• Printout of the online application along with self-attested documents must be sent by Speed Post to the Registrar, IIT (BHU), Varanasi - 221005.
• Candidates already employed in Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous Bodies must upload an NOC and Vigilance Clearance online or provide at interview.
• Applicants must ensure all documents are in the prescribed Annexure-A format and submitted within the timelines.
