Eligibility Details

Essential Qualifications

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or Medical Biotechnology.
• Specialization in Neurobiology is mandatory.
• Degree must be from a recognized university or institute.
• Candidates must meet all minimum academic requirements at the time of interview.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Prior hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Handling and culturing mammalian neuronal cell lines
  • Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) generation and culture
  • Differentiation of stem cells into neurons and neural lineages
  • Analyzing function and cell signaling in neuronal cells
  • Developing/characterizing animal models of neuronal/neurodegenerative disorders
  • Molecular biology techniques including gene cloning, Western blotting, protein analysis, RT-PCR/qPCR, co-immunoprecipitation, protein-protein interaction studies, and cellular signaling pathway analysis

• Position: Research Associate
• Project title: Development of comprehensive in vitro and in vivo study design for understanding pathophysiology of bipolar disorder, associated biomarkers for its probable diagnosis and nutraceutical-based therapeutic intervention
• Sponsor: SKAN Research Trust, Puducherry
• Reporting/PI: Prof. Partha Roy, Biosciences & Bioengineering, IIT Roorkee
• Salary: Rs. 48,000 per month plus admissible HRA
• Duration: Initially 1 year, extendable by 1 year based on funds and performance
• Interview Venue: Faculty Room, Biosciences & Bioengineering Department, IIT Roorkee
