Age Details

• Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command): Not exceeding 50 years
• Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant): Not exceeding 40 years
• Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant): Not exceeding 30 years

Relaxations (as per government orders)

• SC/ST: up to 5 years
• OBC (NCL): up to 3 years
• Government servants: up to 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen: up to 5 years (where applicable)

Eligibility Details

Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command)

• MBBS or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Permanent or provisional registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council.
• Completed compulsory rotating internship.
• Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in the related specialty; Doctorate of Medicine (DM) or Magister Chirurgiae (M.Ch.) with relevant experience.
• Candidates must have permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.

Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant)

• Recognized allopathic medical qualification included in the first or second schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (excluding licentiate). Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council required before appointment.
• Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
• Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in the concerned specialty with prescribed experience after the degree/diploma.

Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant)

• Recognized allopathic medical qualification included in the first or second schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (excluding licentiate).
• Permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
• Completion of compulsory rotating internship. Candidates undergoing internship are eligible to apply and must complete internship before appointment.

Application Fee

• General, EWS, and OBC (UR/OBC/EWS): ₹400 (online payment gateway only)
• SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, and Female candidates: Exempted from payment

Note: Fee once paid is non-refundable. Applications paid through non-approved modes will be rejected.

Additional Instructions

• Candidates already in government service must submit a No Objection Certificate from their current employer.
• Preference for CAPF postings (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB) and Assam Rifles must be indicated in order of priority; the selected post will be ITBP for the MOSB Medical Officer position.
• A minimum 10-year service condition applies for certain postings and resignation before 10 years may require a refund of training costs.
• All appointments are probationary for two years, with possible extension by one year at the discretion of the Central Government.
• Private medical practice is prohibited during service. No extension beyond superannuation age will be granted.
• Tattoos rules as per medical examination norms.
• Interview, PST, and MET are part of the selection process. The merit list will be prepared based on interview marks, with separate lists for SC/ST, OBC (NCL), and EWS.
