Age Relaxations

• General (UR): 40 years
• SC/ST1/ST2/RBA/EWS/OBC/ALC/IB: 43 years
• Physically Challenged: 42 years
• Government Service / Contractual Employees: 40 years

• In-service Permanent Employees of University of Jammu: 50 years

Educational Qualifications (post-wise)

• Foreman: B.E./B.Tech. First Class in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent.
• Junior Stenographer: Graduate with shorthand 65 WPM and typewriting 35 WPM; 6-month Certificate in Computer Applications.
• Workshop Assistant: Matriculate with National Trade Certificate; 3 years’ experience in Foundry Smithery, Sheet Metal, Machine Shop, Carpentry/Woodworking, or Fitting and Welding.
• Accounts Assistant: Graduate with minimum 50% marks (open merit) or 45% marks (reserved); Post-Graduate Degree with 50% marks or Ph.D. eligible.
• Workshop Instructor: Matriculation with 3-year Diploma in the relevant trade.
• Lab. Technician (Civil/CSE): Diploma in the appropriate discipline with 5 years’ experience.
• Pharmacist: 10+2 with Diploma from State Medical Faculty or Diploma in Pharmacy with 5 years’ experience.
• Junior Assistant: Graduate with Computer typing speed of 40 WPM.
• Store Keeper: B.Sc. with stores handling experience.
• Maintenance Assistant: Matriculate with National Trade Certificate in Electrical Trade.
• Library Assistant: B.Lib.S. from a recognized University.
• Driver: Middle pass with hill roads driving license (Commercial) and 5 years’ experience.
• Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Minimum Matriculation and maximum 10+2.

If a university follows a grading system, Grade "B" on a seven-point scale (3.50-4.49) is treated as 55% equivalent. Provisional degree or final semester mark sheet may be uploaded if the degree is not yet received; original degree must be produced at document verification.

Age Limit

As on 01 January 2026, minimum age is 18 years. Maximum age varies by category, with SC/ST/OBC/EWS/RBA/ALC/IB relaxation up to 3 years; physically challenged candidates up to 42 years.

• Government servants must route their hard copy through their Administrative Authority; university employees through the Registrar of their university.
