Age Limits

• 19 to 40 years as on 01-01-2026 for both Rural and Urban posts.

There is no separate upper-age relaxation mentioned for reserved categories in the notification.

Rural Home Guard

• Minimum education: 7th class pass
• Age: 19 to 40 years as of 01-01-2026

Urban Home Guard

• Minimum education: Matric (10th) pass
• Age: 19 to 40 years as of 01-01-2026

Note: Rural candidates require at least a 7th class pass, while Urban candidates require a 10th pass.

Important Dates

• Online application start date: 11-10-2026
• Online application last date: 26-10-2026 (up to 5:00 PM)
• PET, Written, and Technical Test dates: To be announced later through official channels

Application Fee

• Rs. 100 (one hundred rupees only), payable online at the time of application.

Important Instructions

• Enrolment as a Home Guard is voluntary and not a salaried government job. Home Guards receive a duty allowance only for days actually deployed.
• Separate Rural and Urban application forms are available; apply for the appropriate category.
• All certificates submitted must be self-attested and issued before the date of application.
• The selection process includes PET, Hindi writing ability test, and, for Urban technically skilled posts, a Technical Skill Test, followed by a merit list and document verification.
