Eligibility criteria

Citizenship

• Must be an Indian citizen.

Domicile

• Must be domiciled in the state of Meghalaya.

Deployment history

• Must be a Home Guards Volunteer who has been deployed/engaged with various Requisitioning Agencies for a total period of 3 years (1095 days).

Age

• Upper age limit: 50 years as on 15 April 2026.

Application fees

There is no application fee for this enrollment.

Important instructions

• Applications must be submitted offline using the Prescribed Standard Form to the respective District Home Guards offices.
• The deployment is voluntary and temporary; no entitlement to regularisation or permanent retention.
• Candidates should be prepared to stay 2-3 days for interview, at their own expense. No TA/DA will be provided.
• Carry valid ID and original documents during the interview; canvassing or bribes will lead to disqualification.
• Government servants must route the application through the appropriate authority.
• The Department reserves the right to cancel enrollment in part or whole without providing reasons.

• EPIC card of Meghalaya
• Home Guards Basic Training Certificate
• Medical Fitness Certificate from an authorised Government Medical Practitioner/Institution
• Deployment Period Certificate issued by the District Commandant/Officers Commanding District Training Centre/Deputy Controller of Civil Defence
