Age Limit (as on last date of online application: 23-09-2026)

• Max age varies by category; generally up to 33 years for unreserved/EWS/other-state candidates, up to 38 years for MP-domicile women and reserved-category men, and up to 43 years for certain relaxations.

MPESB Subedar Qualification

• Subedar: Graduate degree from a recognised university, or equivalent
• Sub Inspector (SAF): Graduate degree from a recognised university, or equivalent
• Sub Inspector (DEF): Graduate degree from a recognised university, or equivalent
• Sub Inspector (Arms): 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised technical university
• Sub Inspector (Photo/QD/Finger Print): Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from a recognised university, or equivalent

Age and domicile

• MP domicile mandatory for reservation/age relaxation benefits
• Non-MP-domicile candidates may apply only under the Unreserved (Open) category, with no reservation or age-relaxation benefit, and a flat maximum age of 33 years

Application Fees

• Unreserved: ₹500
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS (MP domicile only): ₹250
• MP Online portal processing: ₹60 (via kiosk) or ₹20 (online, registered citizen)
• Separate departmental exam/processing fee for the main written exam: ₹200 (unreserved) or ₹100 (reserved)

Important Instructions

• Only one application per candidate is allowed; multiple applications will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Aadhaar-based registration is mandatory; candidates must carry Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar details along with a photo ID.
• Electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the exam hall.
• Admit cards must be downloaded from the MPESB website; no hard copies will be sent by post.
• The number of posts may increase or decrease before the exam result is declared.
• Government/departmental candidates require prior permission from their appointing authority to sit the exam and must submit a resignation/relieving order if selected.
• Selected candidates will be posted as required and may not be in their home district; a minimum service period may apply before transfer.
• All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh.
