  • While there is no upper age limit to undergo Apprenticeship training, candidates between the ages of 14 and 18 years are not eligible to sign the Apprenticeship contract themselves, as they are minors. Their contract must be signed by their guardians.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduate Apprentice: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any stream (e.g., BE, B.Com, BA, BSc, BCA) from a recognized university or institute as prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education or University Grants Commission.
  • Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA): Candidates must have passed the 10th Class examination under the 10+2 system of education or its equivalent and possess a COPA Trade Certificate issued by the National Council of Vocational Training.

Application Fee

  • The application form costs Rs. 100/-, payable only via NEFT mode. Applications submitted with fees in any other mode will not be accepted.
  • Physically handicapped candidates are exempt from paying the application fees.
  • Application forms will not be sent by post or sold by MbPA at the Apprentice Training Centre office.

How to Apply

Salary

  • The stipend per month will be as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

Selection Process

  • The selection of Graduate Apprentices will be merit-based, determined by the percentage of total marks obtained in the Degree examination. In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
  • Preference will be given to wards of MbPA employees, and separate merit lists will be prepared for them and other candidates.
  • Merit lists will be displayed on the notice board at the office of the Apprentice Training Centre (ATC), Bhandar Bhavan, 3rd floor, N.V. Nakhwa Marg, Mazgaon, Mumbai - 400 010, and uploaded on Mb.P.A.'s website (www.mumbaiport.gov.in).
  • Candidates listed on the merit list will be called for verification of original documents and the selection procedure at the ATC office. The date for this will be displayed on the ATC notice board and uploaded on the Mb.P.A. website.
  • If an applicant on the merit list fails to appear on the specified date, their candidature will be rejected, and the next candidate on the merit list will be considered. No representation regarding this will be entertained.
  • Selected candidates must undergo a Medical Examination and produce a fitness certificate from the Port Authority Hospital.

How to Apply

  • Applicants must first register online through the NATS 2.0 MIS web portal (https://nats.education.gov.in) and print the email copy containing the apprentice enrollment/registration form.
  • Candidates with a valid apprentice enrollment/registration in the NATS 2.0 MIS web portal should download the application form from MbPA's website ('www.mumbaiport.gov.in' > 'People & Career' > 'Jobs' > 'Advertisements' menu).
  • Applicants are required to complete the application form in all respects and submit the duly filled form by hand delivery or by post to the office of the ATC, Bhandar Bhavan, 3rd floor, N.V. Nakhwa Marg, Mazgaon (East), Mumbai – 400010, along with required documents, application fees receipt, etc., on or before the due date.
  • Applications received after the due date or incomplete applications will be rejected, and no further correspondence will be entertained. Mb.P.A. is not responsible for postal delays or losses.
