NIT Calicut Recruitment 2026: Legal Officer (Contract) - 1 Post Online Apply

Age Limit

• Maximum: Less than 40 years as on the last date of application (17-02-2026)
• Age relaxation as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM/PwBD candidates

Educational Qualifications

• LLB (Bachelor’s in Law) from a recognized university or institute, or
• LLM (Master’s in Law) from a recognized university or institute, both recognized by the Bar Council of India
• Minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the qualifying examination
• Must be registered as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India under the Advocates Act, 1961

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years of experience after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, or
• Minimum 2 years of experience after completing a Master’s Degree in Law
• Experience must include civil and criminal litigation, arbitration matters, RTI applications and service-related matters, drafting and interpreting legal documents, and appearances before courts/tribunals
• Experience certificates must be submitted as proof
• Preference for candidates with at least 2 years of experience in legal matters related to academic institutions and/or service matters/IPR filings

• Open the Legal Officer (Post Code 01) notification and fill the online form accurately
• Upload required documents as specified in the portal
• Pay the applicable application fee (Rs. 500 or Rs. 1,000) and note the transaction ID
• Submit the online application and email a copy of the submitted form with supporting documents to the designated address within 5 days from the closing date
• Keep a printout of the submitted application for future reference
