Age Limit

• Maximum age limit: 30 years.

Eligibility (General)

• Essential qualification for all JRF posts: Postgraduate degree in basic science or Graduate/Postgraduate degree in a professional field, obtained through a recognized national eligibility process.
• Candidates may be shortlisted through National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship) and GATE, or through other national eligibility examinations conducted by Central Government departments and agencies.
• For project-specific qualifications, see the ANRF notification and Annexure-I attached to the official notification.

Project-wise Qualifications (highlights)

• A1.3, A2.2, A3.4: B.Tech / M.Tech in relevant Engineering disciplines or MCA/MSc in CS/IT with GATE or national fellowships; CGPA 7.0 or 65% marks; ME/M.Tech with CGPA 6.5 or 60%.
• H2B/H2A/H2D, H3C: Desirable/mandatory qualifications include advanced degrees in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, AI/ML, VLSI, and related areas with strong academic records and GATE/NET qualifications.
• N1.4, N2.4: Allied Engineering or science disciplines with GATE/NET or equivalent; consideration for Project Associate with relaxed criteria as appropriate.
