How to Apply

Selection Process

  • A candidate may apply for only one of the notified positions. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification of the candidature.
  • Provisional shortlisting of eligible candidates for document scrutiny will be based on the aggregate marks scored in the qualifying graduation/diploma course, as applicable to the applied position. NCL reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for Document Verification. Shortlisting will be based on information submitted/declared by candidates on the NATS portal.
  • Candidates must appear with all original certificates/documents as per the eligibility criteria outlined in this Notification for scrutiny. The date and venue for scrutiny will be notified on the official NCL website, www.nclcil.in, and candidates must report accordingly.
  • Failure to report with all original certificates and testimonials within the stipulated date and time will result in the cancellation of candidature.
  • Post scrutiny/verification of eligibility, "Merit panels" will be drawn based on the aggregate marks secured in the respective Graduation/Diploma qualifying course (on the basis of which the candidate is applying). The merit will be arranged in descending order by aggregate marks, with the top scorer ranked highest. The merit list will be published on the official website of NCL.
  • A tie in scores will be resolved first by date of birth, preferring the older candidate. If the tie remains unresolved, it will be resolved by preferring the candidate whose name appears first in English alphabetical order.
  • The final offer for Apprenticeship Training is subject to clearing a Medical Test as per the prescribed standards under the Mines Rules 1955. It is mandatory to obtain a fitness certificate from a medical officer of a government hospital of rank not less than an Assistant Civil Surgeon. The prescribed format for medical fitness is provided as Annexure 3. All entries in the medical certificate should be clear and legible. No details in the test report should be blank. The candidate's photograph must be pasted on the medical examination form and signed and stamped by the examining medical officer. Medical fitness certificates in any other format will not be entertained. The Medical Fitness certificate must be issued after the date of release of this Notification.
  • The apprenticeship contract will be generated through the NATS portal and must be accepted by the candidate. The contract will become operative between the Apprentice Trainee and the General Manager (HRD)/Head of Department (HRD), NCL, provided it is approved by the BOAT-Western region officials.
