Age Limit (as on 30.04.2026)

• General / EWS: 26 years
• OBC (NCL): 29 years
• SC / ST: 31 years
• PwBD (General/EWS): 36 years
• PwBD (OBC NCL): 39 years
• PwBD (SC/ST): 41 years
• Ex-servicemen: as per rules
• NPCIL employees: No upper age limit

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) or 5-year Integrated M.Tech with minimum 60% marks in one of the specified engineering disciplines.

GATE Requirement

• Valid GATE 2024/2025/2026 score in the same discipline as the qualifying degree.

Final Year Applicants

• Candidates awaiting results or in the final year/semester in 2026 may apply, provided they submit final results with minimum 60% by 30 November 2026 if selected.

Note

• Only full-time, on-campus regular degrees are eligible. Correspondence/ distance education/ part-time courses are not accepted.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting will be based on GATE 2024/2025/2026 scores in a 1:12 ratio (discipline and category wise).
• Final selection is based on Personal Interview performance and medical fitness.

Training, Bond and Pay

• Training: One-year orientation at NPCIL Nuclear Training Centres; select reactor stream (PHWR or LWR) for applicable disciplines.
• Post-training: Appointment as Scientific Officer/C in Pay Level 10 with applicable allowances and benefits.
• Bond: Rs. 9,18,000 indemnity bond plus service obligation of at least 3 years after training.
