Age Limits

A candidate must be 21 to 42 years old as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., born between 02-01-1984 and 01-01-2005).

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
• PwD (40% or more) and other categories: up to 10 years (PwD can have cumulative relaxation up to 15 years for SC/STPwD interactions, as applicable).
• Age relaxation is not combinable; only the most favorable relaxation applies.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor of Science in Horticulture (B.Sc. Horticulture) or Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture) from a recognized university. No other equivalent qualification will be accepted.

Odia Language Requirement

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia and meet at least one of the following:

• Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject; or
• Passed Matriculation or equivalent with Odia as the medium of examination in a non-language subject; or
• Passed Odia as a language subject in Class-VII final examination from a recognized school; or
• Passed Odia test in Middle English School standard conducted by the School & Mass Education Department or the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Indian citizen.
• Sound mental and physical health (PwD candidates exempted from some provisions).
• No more than one living spouse, unless exempted by the State Government.
• Government servants must inform their Head of Office and obtain NOC in advance.
• Debarment by OPSC/State PSC/UPSC disqualifies the candidate during the period of debarment.

Candidates with postgraduate degrees in life sciences may also explore related opportunities.

• SC/ST/PwD: Nil (exempted)

Paid online via Credit/Debit Card, UPI, Net Banking, or Wallet. Fee is refundable only to candidates who appear in both papers of the Written Examination.

• Admission to the Written Examination/Interview is provisional; eligibility will be verified later.
• Malpractice or forged documents will lead to debarment for 3 years.
• Final results and marks will be published on the OPSC website.
• For any examination-related complaints, contact the Grievance Wing within 7 days of completion of the examination.
• NPS submission is mandatory for all recommended candidates at the time of joining Government service.
