Age Limits

• General: 23 to 42 years as on 01-04-2025.
• Age relaxations: up to 5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Defence personnel; 10 years for PwBD; up to 7 years for eligible Law Clerk/Research Assistant experience holders.

Educational Qualification

• Graduate in Law (LLB) from a recognized university or institution recognized by the government.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of practice as an Advocate as on 1 April 2025.

Mandatory Language & Other Requirements

• Odia language proficiency equivalent to M.E. School standard (Class VII); Odia must be passed in HSC or an equivalent examination, or produce an Odia test certificate from a recognized board.
• The candidate must be a citizen of India, of good character and sound health.
• Knowledge of Odia reading, writing, and speaking is required.
• One spouse: more than one spouse living is generally not eligible unless exempted by the State Government.

Desirable

• Evidence that the candidate has been recommended by a competent authority confirming eligibility.

Application Fee

• General / SEBC / Others (excluding SC, ST, PwD): Rs. 700 (online only).
• SC / ST / PwD: Nil.
• The fee is non-refundable and is payable online through the OPSC portal. The fee may be refunded only to those who actually appear in the Preliminary Written Examination.

General Instructions

• Only online applications will be accepted. Hard copies will not be entertained.
• Ensure all eligibility conditions are fulfilled before applying; incomplete applications will be rejected.
• Upload scanned copies of documents (photo, signature, and other required certificates).
• After submission, download and keep a printout of the registration and application forms with your signature for verification.
• If required, you may cancel and re-apply within the submission window.
• Regularly check the official OPSC portal for updates, notices, and the exam schedule.
• PwBD candidates must upload the Permanent Disability Certificate (minimum 40% disability). Temporary disability certificates are not accepted.
• Government servants should obtain NOC from their Head of Office and present it at document verification.
• Caste certificates should reflect Odisha domicile where applicable and must be recent (not older than 3 years).
• The Commission’s decisions on eligibility, examination conduct, and selection are final.
