The Uttar Pradesh Marriage Grant Scheme 2024 provides financial assistance for the marriage of girls from economically weaker families in the state. The scheme aims to provide grants for the marriage of daughters from poor families belonging to Other Backward Classes, thereby improving their economic condition. The Backward Classes Welfare Department consistently strives to uplift poor families. Provisions are in place to provide marriage grants to daughters from helpless, poor, and BPL families belonging to Other Backward Classes. A financial aid of Rs. 20,000/- is provided per marriage. Applicants must apply online through Jan Suvidha Kendra, the District Backward Classes Welfare Officer, or the department's official website. Applications must be submitted online within 90 days before or 90 days after the marriage date. Applicants should keep a hard copy of the online application along with all self-attested uploaded documents, such as Aadhaar card, income certificate, caste certificate, marriage invitation card (as proof of marriage date), documentary proof for widow/disabled cases, and bank account-related documents. Both rural and urban women can benefit from this scheme.
