Age Limits

• Minimum age: 15 years
• Maximum age: 24 years as on 01-03-2026

Relaxations

• SC/ST: up to +5 years
• OBC: up to +3 years

Age relaxations as per Railway Board norms and Government of India rules.

Eligibility Qualifications

• Minimum Educational Qualification: 10th pass with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
• Technical Qualification: National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the designated trade issued by NCVT. Mere course completion is not sufficient.
• Note: Candidates awaiting ITI/NTC results as of the notification date are not eligible to apply.
• Higher Qualifications: Engineering graduates or diploma holders are not eligible for this apprenticeship.
• Employment Exchange Registration (Mandatory): Applicants must be registered with the local Employment Exchange; preference given to those registered within Karnataka.
• Wards of Serving Railway Employees: Eligible if applications are routed through Controlling Officials as per Annexure-D.
• Only full-time regular courses considered. All qualifications must be from recognized boards/NCVT.

• Notification Date: 28-02-2026
• Last Date for Submission of Application: 01-04-2026 (before 17:00 hrs)
• Probable Date of Display of List of Selected Candidates: 45 days from closing date
• Tentative Training Commencement: 15 days after merit list

Application Fee

• ₹100 (processing fee) via IPO or Demand Draft in favor of 'Principal Financial Adviser / Rail Wheel Factory'.
• No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women candidates.
• Fees are non-refundable and must not be older than the notification date.

Additional Instructions

• The selected candidates must sign a Contract of Apprenticeship before training.
• Registration for Apprenticeship online is required (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in).
• Ensure names and dates of birth match certificates exactly to avoid cancellation.
• There is no guarantee of employment on completion of apprenticeship.
• Canvassing will disqualify a candidate. No hostel facilities are provided. Travelling allowances are not paid for document verification. List of selected candidates will be published on the official site and SMS/EMAIL notices will be sent for updates.
