Age Limits (as on 29/12/2025)

• Deputy Chief Fire Officer: Maximum 45 years
• Divisional Officer: Maximum 45 years
• Station Officer: Maximum 40 years
• Sub Officer (Fire): Maximum 35 years
• Driver Operator (Pump): 18 to 35 years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years
• SEBC: 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per government rules (service period + 3 years, up to 45 years)
• PH: 10 years
• Women: 5 years
• Note: Maximum relaxation cannot exceed 45 years in any case

Educational Qualifications

• Deputy Chief Fire Officer: Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering OR Post Graduation in Fire & Safety OR Sub Officer Course + 10 years Fire Service OR Degree + 15 years Fire Service experience.
• Divisional Officer: Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering OR Post Graduation in Fire & Safety OR Sub Officer Course + 5 years Fire Service OR Degree + 10 years Fire Service.
• Station Officer: Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Automobile/Mechanical Engineering/Civil/Town/Hydraulic Engineering/Fire/Risk/Safety/Fire Management OR Diploma in a relevant field OR Degree + 5 years Fire Service.
• Sub Officer (Fire): Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Automobile/Mechanical Engineering/Civil/Town/Hydraulic Engineering/Fire/Risk/Safety/Fire Management OR Degree + Fire Safety Certificate.
• Driver Operator (Pump): 8th Standard Pass, valid Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving License without endorsement, and minimum 3 years driving experience of Heavy Motor Vehicle.

Experience

Experience varies by post as per educational qualifications. Relevant Fire Service experience is mandatory for certain posts. HMV driving experience of 3 years is required for the Driver Operator post.
