Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 40 years as on 01-01-2027

Note: For Ballistics Division (Post 3) an older vacancy existed in 2019; appropriate relaxations may apply as per rules.

Educational Qualifications

Senior Scientific Officer - Toxicology Division

• M.Sc. with at least IInd Division in Chemistry from a University established by law in India, or M.Tech./M.E. with at least IInd Division in Chemical Engineering, or M.Sc. with IInd Division in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Chemistry/Toxicology/Narcotics (in III or IV semester) and Chemistry/Forensic Chemistry as a Bachelor’s level subject.
• Certificate/Diploma in Computer Science/Computer Application or Degree with at least one subject in Computer Science/Computer Application, or 'O' level or higher NIELIT certification.
• Two years’ experience in a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) of a State or Central Government or equivalent.

Senior Scientific Officer - Physics Division

• M.Sc. with IInd Division in Physics, or M.Tech./M.E. with IInd Division in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or M.Sc. with IInd Division in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Physics/Physical Science (with relevant subject in B.Sc).
• Certificate/Diploma in Computer Science/Computer Application or Degree with one CS/CA subject, or 'O' level or higher NIELIT certification.
• Two years’ experience in an FSL or equivalent.

Senior Scientific Officer - Ballistics Division

• M.Sc. with IInd Division in Physics/Mathematics, or M.Sc. with IInd Division in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Ballistics (with required subjects in B.Sc).
• Certificate/Diploma in Computer Science/Computer Application or Degree with CS/CA subject, or 'O' level or higher NIELIT certification.
• Two years’ experience in an FSL or equivalent.

General

• Working knowledge of Hindi (Devnagari) and Rajasthan culture is mandatory for all posts.
• One Time Registration (OTR) on the SSO Portal is mandatory before applying.

Application Fee (One-Time Registration and online application)

• General / OBC Creamy Layer / Other States candidates: ₹600 (non-refundable)
• Reserved Category (SC / ST / OBC Non-Creamy Layer / MBC Non-Creamy Layer / EWS / PwBD) of Rajasthan: ₹400 (non-refundable)

Fees are payable online. OTR fees or admission charges are not refundable.

Selection Process

• Online Written Examination (Objective Type), followed by document verification and meeting eligibility criteria.
• Stage 1: Written Test - 150 questions, 150 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes.
• Stage 2: Document Verification and Medical Fitness.
• Negative marking: 1/3 of the marks for each wrong answer.

How to Apply

• Apply online only via RPSC website or SSO Portal after completing One Time Registration (OTR).
• Ensure a valid email ID and mobile number.

Documents Required (to be uploaded)

• Recent photograph (live capture during application)
• Left thumb impression (mandatory)
• Aadhaar/Janadhaar for identity verification

Documents to be Produced at Examination/Document Verification/Appointment

• Admit Card, photo ID proof, caste/OBC/EWS certificates as applicable, PwBD certificate, educational certificates, experience certificates, salary slip (if applicable), character/antecedent verification, and medical fitness certificate.

Important Instructions

• Complete OTR before applying; no application without valid OTR.
• Separate online applications must be submitted for each post.
• Online application correction is possible on payment of ₹500 within 10 days after the last date.
• PwBD candidates may request scribe facility as per RPwD Act, 2016.
• Mobile phones or any electronic devices are not allowed in the examination hall.
• Canvassing will lead to disqualification. Jurisdiction: Rajasthan.
• RPSC reserves the right to cancel or amend the process at any stage.
