SMC Recruitment 2026: 80 Posts Open for Electrical Wireman and Assistant Architect - Apply Online

Age Limits (as on 06 July 2026)

• Administrative Officer: Not more than 45 years
• Assistant Architect: Not more than 35 years
• Electrical Wireman: Not more than 36 years

Reserved category candidates from Gujarat domicile may receive age relaxation as per government rules. Regular Surat Municipal Corporation employees are exempt from the upper age limit. SMC trainees are subject to existing age limit rules.

Post-Wise Qualifications

1. Director (Information Technology) - Cancelled

• Education: Postgraduate degree in Computer/Electronics/Electronics & Communication/ICT/ETC/CS/IT from a recognized university.
• Experience: 9 years in a government/semi-government role with IT responsibilities, in a pay scale of ₹8,000-₹13,500.

2. Departmental Enquiry Officer - Cancelled

• Education: LLB from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in Labour Court, Industrial Tribunal, Conciliation, etc. Arbitrator experience preferred.
• Additional: Basic computer knowledge; knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi.

3. Administrative Officer

• Education: Postgraduate degree in any stream from a recognized university.
• Experience: 7 years in administrative work in government/semi-government bodies.

4. Assistant Architect

• Education: B.E. (Civil) or B.Arch., plus a postgraduate degree/diploma in City Planning/Regional Planning/Urban Design or membership of Town Planners’ Association after examination.
• Additional: Basic computer knowledge; knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi.

5. Senior Swimming Pool Instructor - Cancelled

• Education: Bachelor’s degree and a 10-month Swimming Course (Sports Authority of India/Netaji Subhash Institute of Sports).
• Additional: First aid certificate; preference for state/national swimming experience or prior involvement with SMC.

6. Junior Swimming Pool Instructor - Cancelled

• Education: Bachelor’s degree and a 6-week Swimming Certificate with 5 years of swimming experience.
• Additional: First aid training; preference for state/national level swimmers.

7. Junior Lady Swimming Pool Instructor - Cancelled

• Education: Same as Junior Swimming Pool Instructor for female candidates.

8. Electrical Wireman

• Education: ITI Electrician or Second Class Wireman.
• Experience: 3 years as Electrical Wireman.
• Additional: Knowledge as Cable Jointer for HT/LT switching work.

Payment mode: Online only (Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking). The fee is non-refundable once paid. If a form is submitted again, the earlier form is canceled but the fee remains non-refundable.

• This recruitment is for waitlist (Pratiksha Yadi) formation for future permanent appointments.
• 80 permanent cadre vacancies across 3 post categories: Administrative Officer, Assistant Architect, and Electrical Wireman.
• PwD reservations: 1 seat for Post 5, 1 seat for Post 6, and 8 seats for Post 8. Disability eligibility is 40% or more.
