Educational Qualification

Overview

• SSC MTS 2026 exam consists of two mandatory sessions: Session I (Numerical and Mathematical Ability, and Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving) and Session II (General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension).
• The exam is conducted online (CBT).
• Session I has no negative marking; Session II carries a penalty of 1 mark for each wrong answer.
• For Havaldar posts, PET/PST are qualifying in nature.

Exam Pattern

• Total questions: 90; Total marks: 270; Duration: 90 minutes (45 minutes per session).
• Session I: Numerical & Mathematical Ability (20 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes) and Reasoning Ability & Problem Solving (20 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes).
• Session II: General Awareness (25 questions, 75 marks, 45 minutes) and English Language & Comprehension (25 questions, 75 marks, 45 minutes).
• No sectional cut-offs; bilingual exam (English and Hindi) except for the English section.

• Integers and Whole Numbers, LCM & HCF, Decimals & Fractions, Percentages, Ratios & Proportions, Time & Work, Averages, Simple Interest, Profit & Loss, Area & Perimeter, Data Interpretation, etc.

Reasoning Ability & Problem Solving

• Alpha-Numeric Series, Coding-Decoding, Analogy, Direction Sense, Syllogisms, Data Sufficiency, Non-verbal Reasoning, Calendar & Clock, Age Calculations, etc.

General Awareness

• Current Affairs, Sports, History, Geography, Polity including Indian Constitution, Economic Scene, Scientific Research, Static GK, etc.

English Language & Comprehension

• Spotting Errors, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms & Antonyms, Spelling, Idioms & Phrases, One-word Substitution, Sentence Improvement, Comprehension passages, etc.

Selection Process

• Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBT).
• Stage 2: PET/PST for Havaldar posts (qualifying in nature).
• Final merit is based on CBT performance.
