Overview

SSC Stenographer Grade C & D examination consists of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Skill Test and Document Verification. The CBT is objective and bilingual (except English). Final merit is based on CBT performance, with the Skill Test being qualifying in nature.

Exam Pattern

• CBT: 200 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours. Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer. Sections include General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension. The English section is in English only; other sections are bilingual.
• Skill Test: Qualifying in nature. Grade C requires 100 words per minute; Grade D requires 80 w.p.m. Dictation lasts 10 minutes, followed by transcription on a computer with time limits (40-55 minutes depending on language and grade).
