Age Relaxations (as per UPSC rules)

• SC / ST: 5 years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years (as applicable to suitable/reserved posts)
• Central Government Employees / Ex-Servicemen: as per rules.

Post-wise Essential Qualifications

• Scientist-B (Atmospheric Sciences): Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Atmospheric Sciences, Ocean Science, Hydrology, Atmospheric Physics, or related fields.
• Scientist-B (General Meteorology): Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Atmospheric Science, or Physics with Meteorology.
• Scientist-B (Instrumentation): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, IT, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Computer Science.

Experience

• Nil for all three posts.

How to Apply

• Apply online only through the UPSC ORA portal. Registration, completion of the Common Application Form, and filling the vacancy-specific module are required.
• Upload required documents: photo, signature, date of birth proof, educational certificates, category certificates (if applicable), PwBD certificate (if applicable), and other supporting documents.
• Printout of the submitted application should be kept for future reference. No hard copy is required.

Selection and Other Details

• Selection will be by Recruitment Test and/or Interview as determined by UPSC.
• All eligibility conditions will be determined as on 12-06-2026.
• Electronic gadgets are prohibited at the examination/interview venue. Canvassing will lead to disqualification.
• Appointment orders will be issued by the relevant Ministry/Department after selection.
