Age Limit

• As on 31-12-2026, MBBS degree holders must be aged up to 30 years (born on or after 02-01-1997).
• PG degree holders must be aged up to 35 years (born on or after 02-01-1992).

Eligibility Details

• The applicant must possess a medical qualification included in the National Medical Council Act, 2019.
• Permanent registration from any State Medical Council/NMC/MCI is required.
• Postgraduate degree holders recognized by State Medical Council / NBE / NMC can also apply.
• Internship completion: Only candidates who have completed their internship on or before 31 Jul 2025 are eligible.

• Rs. 200/- for online application processing. The fee is payable through internet banking, credit card, or debit card at the end of the online submission.

General Information / Instructions

• Online applications are invited for the post of Medical Officer (Short Service Commission) from Indian citizens (male and female) who have passed their final MBBS examination (Parts I & II) in not more than two attempts and who have appeared in NEET PG (2024 or 2025).
• Civilian doctors with a PG qualification need not appear in NEET PG again; earlier NEET PG marks will be considered.
• Civilian doctors with PG qualifications must produce the PG degree/mark sheet and original documents at interview verification.
• Place of interview is Delhi. Posting may be anywhere in the country or abroad according to service requirements.
• SSC officers are commissioned as Capt (or equivalent) on entry and may be promoted per service rules.
• If you hold an additional medical qualification (MCI/NBE recognized) prior to joining, ante-date seniority may be eligible as per existing rules.

How to Apply

1. Apply online via the official site: www.join.afms.gov.in. Click on NEW REGISTRATION and follow the steps.
2. Upload essential documents scanned copies (photograph, X certificate/birth certificate, MBBS attempt certificate, internship completion, NEET PG score card, PG degree certificate if any, Aadhar card).
3. Produce original documents for verification at the time of interview (two photocopies required).
4. Bring necessary identification and documents as advised in the notification for interview verification.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting for interview will be based on the calculated NEET PG marks as per the stated methodology.
• Interviews will be conducted by a Board of Officers in March 2026, at the ARMY Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt.
• Interviewees will be reimbursed travel from their normal place of residence to the interview venue as per policy.
