Age limits are posted per post (direct recruitment/deputation). The notification provides maximum ages: Professor/Additional Professor up to 58 years; Associate Professor/Assistant Professor up to 50 years. Eligibility overview

Medical candidates

• Professor: Medical qualification under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, plus postgraduate qualification (MD/MS or equivalent), and/or M.Ch./D.M. for super-specialities. Experience requirements: 14 years post-MD/MS, or 12 years post-M.Ch./D.M. (2/5-year course), or 11 years post-3-year D.M./M.Ch.
• Additional Professor: Same base qualifications as Professor; for super-specialities, D.M./M.Ch. required. Experience: 10 years post-MD/MS; OR 8 years post-D.M./M.Ch. (2/5-year course); OR 7 years post-3-year D.M./M.Ch.
• Associate Professor: Same base qualifications as Professor; for super-specialities, D.M./M.Ch. in the discipline. Experience: 6 years post-MD/MS; OR 4 years post-D.M./M.Ch. (2/5-year course); OR 3 years post-3-year D.M./M.Ch.
• Assistant Professor: Same base qualifications as Professor; for super-specialities, D.M./M.Ch. in the discipline. Experience: 3 years post-MD/MS; OR 1 year post-D.M./M.Ch. (2/5-year course) (no experience for some D.M./M.Ch. holders).

Non-Medical candidates

• Professor/Additional Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor: Master’s degree in the discipline with a Doctorate from a recognized university; specific discipline-related Master’s degrees apply (e.g., M.Sc. in relevant fields). Experience as listed post-doctorate varies by grade.
• DNB holders: DNB qualification requires equivalence evidence per MCI notification dated 31.10.2018. Experience counting rules apply.
• Teaching/research experience counted from recognized institutions; experience in dental, physiotherapy, or nursing colleges not considered for eligibility.
