Age Details (as on 01-08-2026)

• Maximum age limit: 57 years for Ex-Servicemen (subject to other conditions).
• PwBD: 10 years of relaxation over the prescribed maximum age.
• Bihar government employees: up to 5 years relaxation (with a maximum of 5 attempts).
• Specific age relaxations apply by category as listed in the notification.

Educational Qualification

• 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (Table-I): Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from any recognized university (Graduation is mandatory).
• Table-II posts have specific qualifications (e.g., for Child Development Project Officer, Financial Administrative Officer, Sub-Divisional Protection Officer, etc.). See official notification for post-wise details.

Age Limit

• Age is calculated as on 01-08-2026.
• Minimum age: 20 years for Police Sub-Inspector; 21 years for Level-6 and Level-7 posts; 22 years for Level-9 posts.
• Maximum age: 37 years (UR, male); 40 years (UR, female); 40 years (EBC/BC); 42 years (SC/ST); PwBD relaxation up to 10 years; other relaxations for Bihar government employees and ex-servicemen as specified in the notification.

Reservation & Domicile

• Bihar domicile is required to avail reservation benefits. Non-residents of Bihar may apply only under UR category.
• Permanent residential address proof is mandatory for reservation claims.

Application Fee

• All candidates: Rs. 100 (examination fee).
• Biometric fee (if Aadhaar not provided): Rs. 200 (additional).
• Fee once paid is non-refundable.

Important Instructions

• Only online applications are accepted through the BPSC OTR portal. Hard copy submissions are not allowed.
• One Time Registration (OTR) per candidate only; multiple registrations may lead to rejection.
• Upload PDFs of required documents with proper file size limits; ensure active email and mobile numbers until results are published.
• Background for the photo should be white or light-colored with adequate lighting; signatures in Hindi and English must be scanned and uploaded.
• Corrigendum dated 06-05-2026 removed 44 Cane Officer posts (Sugarcane Industry Department) from Table-I, reducing total vacancies to 1186.
