• Maximum service age in KGBV: 60 years

Age relaxation and character eligibility

• Age relaxations as per State Government reservations.
• Ineligible if dismissed, convicted for moral/character-related offences, or declared insolvent.

Educational qualifications (post-wise) overview

• Principal: Trained MA (Hindi/English) or MSc (Physics/Chemistry/Zoology/Botany/Maths/CS) with at least 4 years of teaching experience in classes 9-12, or at least 4 years’ experience as Principal of a recognized Junior High School; alternatives include 10 years teaching experience with postgraduate degree and training, or a training diploma in Education with postgraduate qualification and substantial teaching service.
• PGT Hindi: MA in Hindi with Sanskrit, or an equivalent examination as per Government Sanskrit College, Varanasi/Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi.
• PGT English: Postgraduate degree in English; or Postgraduate Diploma with Training/Diploma from an L.T. Training College or equivalent; preference to candidates with a Diploma/Degree in Education.
• PGT Maths: MA or MSc in Maths, or a two-year B.Ed including BA (Hons)/BSc (Hons) in Maths.
• PGT Biology: MSc in Botany/Zoology, or BSc with Agricultural Botany and Zoology, or Life Science postgraduate degree with related diploma.
• PGT Chemistry: MSc in Chemistry, or a two-year B.Ed (Hons) or related postgraduate diploma with BSc.
• PGT Physics: MSc in Physics, or a postgraduate diploma in Physics from a recognized Education Department, with BSc.
• Computer Science Teacher: B.E./B.Tech in CS, MCA, M.Sc. CS, DOEACC “B” Level, or equivalent degree/diploma with CS component.
• Lab Assistant: High School with Science and a Laboratory Technique Diploma, or Intermediate (Science).
• Office Superintendent/Clerk: Intermediate with computer subjects, and typing speed requirements (Hindi 25 wpm, English 30 wpm).
• Caretaker: Graduate with B.Ed.
• Peon: Class 8 pass.
• Watchman: Class 8 pass.
• Cook: Class 8 pass.
