Age limits

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 45 years

Relaxations are as per state rules and post-specific provisions (general relaxation of up to 5 years, plus applicable category and local-resident concessions). Age reckoning as on 01-01-2025, with various relaxations for SC/ST/OBC, women candidates, ex-servicemen, and other categories.

Educational and other qualifications

• Vahan Chalak (Driver): Class 12 (10+2) pass or equivalent from a recognized board, plus a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving licence.
• Vahan Chalak-cum-Operator: Class 12 (10+2) pass or equivalent, plus a valid HMV driving licence.
• Store Keeper: Class 12 (10+2) pass or equivalent.
• Mechanic: Class 12 (10+2) pass or equivalent, plus a Diploma in Diesel Mechanic from an ITI or recognised institution.
• Watch Room Operator: Class 12 (10+2) pass or equivalent, and must be a trained Nagar Sainik.

Notes:

• Local residence in Chhattisgarh is required for eligibility.
• Post-wise qualifications must be met; eligibility is assessed per post as listed above.

Application Fee (written exam stage)

Stage 2 - CGSSB NSSK26 written exam (currently open)

• General: ₹350
• OBC: ₹250
• SC/ST/PwD: ₹200

Note: Stage 1 Department application (2025) fees were paid earlier; local-resident candidates may have a refund as per circular. Fees are to be paid online at the time of application.

Important Instructions

• Local residency in Chhattisgarh is required for eligibility; certificates will be verified later.
• A valid email ID is mandatory.
• Admit cards will be uploaded on the CGSSB portal about 7 days before the exam.
• Arrive at the exam centre at least 2 hours early for identity verification; entry closes 30 minutes before start.
• Do not carry prohibited items; electronic devices and communication tools are not allowed in the exam hall.
• There is no negative marking in the written exam.
• Objections to provisional answer keys may be raised online with a nominal fee per question; final decision rests with the expert committee.
• There is no re-check/re-evaluation for OMR sheets.
