Age limits

• Professor: Up to 47 years (Relaxation as per rules: OBC 45, SC/ST 47, In-service as per General Recruitment Rules 1997, Physically Handicapped 10 years, Widow 10 years, Ex-servicemen as applicable).
• Associate Professor: Up to 44 years (OBC 42, SC/ST 44, In-service rules, PH 10 years, Widow 10 years, Ex-servicemen as applicable).
• Assistant Professor: Up to 40 years (OBC 38, SC/ST 40, In-service rules, PH 10 years, Widow 10 years, Ex-servicemen as applicable).
• Casualty Medical Officer: Up to 40 years (OBC 38, SC/ST 40, In-service rules, PH 10 years, Widow 10 years, Ex-servicemen as applicable).

Eligibility details

• Professor: Postgraduate qualification (MD/MS/DNB/DrNB/MDS/M.Sc, Ph.D) recognized by MCI/NMC from a legally established institute in India. Three years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in a NMC/MCI recognized medical college, with required research publications as per NMC TEQ guidelines. Completion of the basic course in Biomedical Research or equivalent as designated by NMC is preferred.
• Associate Professor: Postgraduate qualification recognized by MCI/NMC from a legally established institute in India. Five years of teaching experience (including time as an Assistant Professor) in a Government medical institution. Research publications as per NMC TEQ guidelines and completion of Biomedical Research basic course within two years of appointment.
• Assistant Professor: Postgraduate qualification recognized by MCI/NMC (MD/MS/DNB/DrNB/MDS/M.Sc, Ph.D). One year as Senior Resident in the relevant subject after MD/MS/MDS. DNB holders must have experience as per NMC TEQ regulations. In Dentistry, one year as Senior Resident/Registrar/Tutor/Lecturer after MDS. One year of experience as Assistant Professor may count as one year of Senior Resident. Teaching experience in Armed Forces institutions may be considered.
• Casualty Medical Officer: MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized medical college. Experience as per NMC TEQ guidelines.
