Educational Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University/Institution, OR
• Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics & Communication Engineering or Naval Architecture from a recognised University/Institution, OR
• MOT 1st Class Motor Certificate issued under Merchant Shipping Act 1958.

Experience (as per RR)

• Fifteen years of managerial experience in Mechanical/Electrical/Marine/Electronics Engineering, with at least 8 years in workshops handling cargo handling equipment, electrical installations, or ship repairs in Major Port Trusts/Industrial/Commercial/Government Undertakings.

Selection

• By absorption through composite method; failing which by deputation; failing both by direct recruitment, with merit-based selection and ACR benchmark of “Very Good.”

• A hard copy of the online application must be sent through proper channel in an envelope labeled: “Application for the post of Chief Mechanical Engineer in Cochin Port Authority on absorption basis.”

• Two recent passport-size photographs in a sealed envelope.
• Details of service length, final APAR gradings, and eligibility position clearly indicated.

• Salary details: Rs. 1,00,000 - 2,60,000, with potential upgrade to Rs. 1,20,000 - 2,80,000 after 3 years of regular service, subject to Central Government approval.
