Age Details (as on 23 February 2026)

• Marine Engineer: 40 years
• Superintending Engineer (Civil): 40 years
• Dy. Director (Research): 35 years Note: Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST on reserved posts; 10 years for PwBD on identified posts; employees of Major Port Authorities may have age up to 55 years.

Marine Engineer

• MOT 1st Class Motor Certificate or Marine Engineer Officer Class I Certificate under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.
• One year post-qualification experience as Chief Engineer/2nd Engineer on board a foreign-going ship.

Superintending Engineer (Civil)

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
• Nine years of executive experience in Planning/Construction/Design/Maintenance, preferably of Port and Marine Structures in a Govt. Undertaking.

Dy. Director (Research)

• Degree in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics from a recognized University/Institution.
• Five years of executive experience in Planning or in data collection, compilation & interpretation, or in conducting field surveys/investigations.
• Desirable: PG Degree/Diploma in Economics or Statistics or Mathematics or Operational Research; knowledge of computer operations.
