Age limits (as stated in the notification)

• Unreserved: 21-35 years; PwD: 21-45 years
• Backward Classes: 21-37 years; PwD: 21-47 years
• Women (Unreserved/EWS/BC/EBC): 21-38 years; PwD: 21-48 years
• SC/ST: 21-40 years; PwD: 21-50 years Note: Age relaxation and PwD provisions are category-specific as per the notification.

Educational qualifications by post

The required qualifications vary by post. Common minimums include:

• ANM posts (NHM, MTC, RBSK, NUHM): 10+2 or equivalent with an ANM course recognized by the Government and approved by the Indian Nursing Council, plus Jharkhand Nursing Council registration.
• Staff Nurse posts (NHM, NBSU): 10+2/Intermediate with 3 years’ General Nursing and Midwifery training, registered with Jharkhand Nursing Council.
• Several technical/supervisory posts (STS, STLS, TB-HV) require a certificate in computer operations (minimum 2 months) and, in some cases, a permanent two-wheeler driving licence.
• Additional preferential qualifications (experience, NTEP, local language proficiency) may be specified per post in the official notification and are not mandatory.

• Notification/Advertisement Date: 20 July 2026
• Last Date to Submit Application: 12 August 2026, up to 5:00 PM Note: Some dates such as exam, admit card, or interview dates are not mentioned in the notification.

Application fee

• General/OBC/BC: ₹400 per post
• SC/ST: ₹200 per post
• Fee payable via Demand Draft in favor of “District Rural Health Society, Giridih” and enclosed with the application.
• If applying for more than one post, submit a separate application and fee for each post.

Important instructions

• This is a contractual engagement under NHM and does not constitute regular government employment. The contract is valid for one year and may be extended based on annual performance.
• The contract can be terminated with one month’s notice or one month’s honorarium in lieu of notice.
• District-level reservation roster applies to all posts.
• Local candidates are given preference. No candidate will be entertained for inquiries via personal correspondence.
• If any information provided is found false, candidature/appointment may be canceled with possible legal action.
• The DHS reserves the right to amend the terms of the advertisement as required and its decision is final.
