ICAR IARI Recruitment 2026: Senior Research Fellow and Young Professional II Posts

Age limits

• Senior Research Fellow: Up to 35 years (relaxations as per government norms: 5 years for SC/ST/Women, 3 years for OBC).
• Young Professional-II: 21 to 45 years.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Master’s degree in Vegetable Science, Genetics, Plant Breeding, or Biotechnology with a 4/5-year bachelor’s degree. Candidates with a 3-year bachelor’s degree must have NET qualification (UGC/CSIR/ICAR) or a Ph.D. in the relevant field as per ICAR guidelines. Desirable: experience in vegetable breeding, molecular breeding, biotechnology, and proficiency in computer applications.

Young Professional-II (YP-II)

• Postgraduate degree in Vegetable Science, Horticulture, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Seed Science & Technology, Biotechnology, or related Life Sciences disciplines. Desirable: experience in germplasm phenotyping, screening for biotic stress tolerance, molecular breeding, computer applications, data collection & handling, and statistical analysis.
